My son bought me one of these smokers after I saw one in use at a neighbors house. It is fantastic! I used it to smoke chicken and especially for Thanksgiving turkeys. I'd have one baked in the oven, the other smoked. The smoked turkey was always the best, moist and tender. My first smoker blew away in 90 mile an hour winds. I bought this one as a replacement...with a cover!

I love this smoker. It's a great and inexpensive way to learn how to cook with indirect heat and smoking. I've been reading about some modifications that make it more efficient. Some work for me and some don't. I LIKE using lump charcoal with soaked wood chunks. My only problem is that I smell smokey at the end of the day. I don't mind it, but my wife notices. However, she loves the results. I started with chicken and Today I'm making ribs. I think I'm ready for brisket. I'm sure the neighbors think I'm nutty. It's raining cats and dobermans today and I'm smoking underneath a deck umbrella. Ribs, slaw and baked potatoes. Oh yeah! and the NFL playoffs.....
