While probably not the best fireplace screen for safety; it is certainly very attractive and is a perfect decoration for our new home--- blocking an ugly fireplace opening that is gas heated (not wood). This is a decoration for our home and is excellent with it's colors and designs. It is exactly what we were looking for.

I use this decorative screen year-round to add a touch of nature to my living room; it fits perfectly into the opening of my fireplace; even though the metal is darker than shown in the photo, the birds and leaves softly catch the light and the branch structure is elegant and subtle.
