We use this as a desk chair for a single pedestal desk ordered elsewhere and also beech wood. I got it unfinished to try to match the "honey" finish on the desk, and it turned out beautifully. Sand with 220 grit paper, seal with a prestain, stain (Minwax Colonial Maple), then three coats of waterborne polyurethane. The wood accepted the finish easily. A quality product, very solidly built, and comfortable even without a cushion. [...]
