In October 1943, Hamilton Louden Bruce decided to try his hand at
furniture manufacturing. Leasing a small building for $15.00 per
month, he hired two helpers and started to manufacture canvas
covered lawn chairs. Production amounted to 24 chairs a day. The
company derived its name from Hamilton (Ham) and his wife, Mary
(mary), therefore Hammary.Today, Hammary offers a variety of styles in occasional tables, home office, casual dining, and bedroom. Table groups contain an assortment of items such as rectangular, square and oval cocktail tables, end tables, lamp tables and sofa tables in a choice of wood or glass tops. In addition to tables manufactured from various species of wood, Hammary also carries tables fabricated from metals such as wrought iron, cast iron or cast aluminum with wood, glass tops, or marble.

Comments:
This chair is true to the picture--color of cushions, wood, rattan the same as that advertised. I love it and am very happy with it. I am not sure the white cushions will hold up well to my 3 year old, but I had planned on eventually getting them recovered anyways. I was happy to discover that the cushion covers are removable and I believe washable as well. The chair is fairly large, so I wasn't sure when I ordered it if I wanted one or two chairs, but now that I have received it I will be ordering a second chair.
