Disappointed is the best description for this Hall Tree by Eagle brand. I researched for months online and in store for a sturdy, attractive and functional replacement for the 200.00 tree purchased 4 years ago from [...] The chest part of the tree is sturdy and well built. However, the Wall and hook component is held erect by 2 14inch metal brackets which have 2 screws in them not fully inserted(this may be due to the thin quality of the beadboard). The top half is very un-sturdy and has lots of wiggle. [...] Lastly, the top of the tree is ornamental Molding and not finished with a board to provide a top quality finish. Instead top is painted poorly and at best the kids bike helmets can rest on the top. I seriously question this trees capability to hold 4 winter jackets next year and computer bags. The chest which is deep and very sturdy will be used to store 2 kids book bags although thus far things stored in the chest come out smelling of paint which takes about 3 days to disapate. Overall it is an attractive piece of furniture that lacks in function and way overpriced. This piece is more like 300.00 only for the nice quality of the chest. Also, I feel embarrassed as an American to state this is American made as Eagle touts. Its pretty cheap design then again maybe I should of bought from a Swedish company known for its cheap prices great function and design.
